A more satisfactory sub-shrub than some of the species it have tried. I was warned that it wasn't reliably hardy
so it was planted in the Agave house where it has grown into a twiggy dwarf shrub that flowered freely in late summer.
This winter hasn't been serious test for it so it will be well established by the time the cold arrives again.
It comes from the mountains of Taiwan and could prove hardier than expected.

A brittle stemmed species which seems to be hardy here. The same thing as Goldfussia penstemonoides.
I have obtained it under two names, S. penstemonoides and S. rankanensis but both of my plants seem to be the same thing
and S. penstemonoides may be the better name.
