Acorus gramineus 'Hakuro Nishiki'

A very dwarf and rather congested form. The older leaves become yellower. Commonly available as a water plant, but it gets rather swamped by vigorous companions. Makes small congested 'buns' of foliage as it matures.
Hakuro translated from Japanese as White (Haku) dew (Ro). Nishiki mans brocade.

Liz Plants say:

"Hakuro-nishiki is a variegated cultivar of Japanese sweet flag, featuring narrow, arching leaves with striking white and cream striping and sometimes pink tinges, especially in cooler weather. This compact ornamental grass grows slowly and stays small, making it ideal for container gardening, bog gardens, and water features. It's prized for its year-round ornamental foliage and low-growing, clumping habit."

Farmyard Nursery says:

"A rather unusual very dwarf evergreen grass-like plant. Slow growing yet not difficult this little gem has a multitude of uses. Excellent for use in rockeries and alpine gardens, containers, paths, edging etc. Prefers a sunny or semi shaded moist site where its gold tinged leaves are a real attraction."
