A large luxuriant bromeliad that is surprisingly hardy. It doesn't really like frost, which causes some leaf damage, but it doesn't need any more than frost protection.
You can see the sort of leaf damage you get if you are careless!

It continues to grow. It isn't as lush as it was when I got it but it is larger.

Sadly a series of harsh winters have damaged it. When I took this picture I hoped that it might recover slowly but it didn't happen. If I got a chance I would replace it because I am still convinced that it could be good.
