Agapanthus inapertus 'Lydenburg'
8th August 2010
A recently introduced mid blue flowered cultivar with pendulous flowers that flare widely at the tip.
I haven't had it long enough to comment on its hardiness, but it came through last winter without trouble in a cold greenhouse.
3rd October 2015
A form that was growing at Kirstenbosch and thought to be a wild collection of A. inapertus ssp. hollandii
but research by Zonneveld and Duncan (2003) has suggested that it is actually a hybrid between subspecies of A. inapertus
and probably arose in cultivation.
