Agapanthus inapertus 'Lydenburg'

8th August 2010

A recently introduced mid blue flowered cultivar with pendulous flowers that flare widely at the tip.

A form that was growing at Kirstenbosch and thought to be a wild collection of A. inapertus ssp. hollandii but research by Zonneveld and Duncan (2003) has suggested that it is actually a hybrid between subspecies of A. inapertus and probably arose in cultivation.
