Agave celsii

At first sight, Agave celsii does not look like a good candidate for the open garden. It occurs in the south of Mexico, and down into Guatemala
, but it comes from cloud forest habitat and is very tolerant of winter wet, which is the big killer of Agave. It grows well locally, and has
even forgiven me for being left in a pot outside through the winter. This snow shower was shrugged off a few hours later.

Planted outside (this one is in Falmouth) it can grow into a magnificent plant.
