Agave kerchovei
17th June 2012
I bought this young seedling at a cactus show because baby Agave are cuter than baby bunnies. It occurs
in southern Puebla and Oaxaca along with its close relative A.ghiesbreghtii and intermediate forms occur
that make the species difficult to distinguish.
This little seedling is not as spiny as I would expect - Gentry describes it as 'armed with large variable teeth'.

Developing a rather filiferous appearance as it matures. It is cute but not exactly as expected. I am hoping it will throw off fluffy adolescence with a spiky
roar and develop the short stout trunk of maturity.
