Agave montana
7th December 2008
This is a fairly recently discovered species, found growing at high altitude in Mexico. Indications so far are that it will be the hardiest species of
Agave for the UK. There has been an awful lot of hype about it, but there is a good chance that it will be a significant addition
to the garden.

I have a feeling that it would have grown much faster if I had treated it more generously, but I have been growing it quite hard until I am sure it is tough enough
to stand conditions here.

My large plant is becoming a significant spiny presence in the Agave house. I have a couple of smaller saeedlings up there, and eventually I will plant one of them outside
to see how tough it really is.
