One of the great joys of growing seed from seed exchanges is that you never know quite what to expect. Of course, it is also one of the great vexations as well.
When I planted the seed, I was fully convinced that this would be Habranthus tubispathus, and even as the bud started to emerge, I clung on to a vain hope,
but as things turn out, it was not to be. In the end I seem to have got Albuca humilis (as far as I can tell). I may be wrong, but from the look of the leaves,
I still have a few surprises to come from the pot!
It has flowered even better this year, and is making an excellent show under cover. I will probably have to split it this winter, so I will
be able to try a piece outside next year.
The pot has managed to throw up an extra surprise in the form of Habranthus robustus which will make things interesting when I get around to splitting them up.
