Alpinia galanga
12th September 2006
Alpinia galanga is also known as Galangale, used as a spice in Thai cooking. It is vigorous, fairly cold tolerant (though not hardy), and it
will flower on the first year growth, albeit at the very end of the season. I obtained it as a dry rhizome, and it has taken a while to bounce back to life.

It has grown well this season, and I am hoping for flowers next year.
