A lot of plants have been arriving from China recently, and Alocasia cucullata has been one of them. There are hopes that it will be fairly hardy,
but so far I have not seen any nurseries that have managed to grow the tubers into decent plants. This variety came from the USA, presumably from the same source. It has also been
slow to establish, and I have finally put it into a heated propagator to boost it through the winter. It seems to be astonishingly prone to attack by aphids.
