Amicia zygomeris 'Variegated'

8th October 2010

Amicia zygomeris makes rather impressive clumps of exotic looking foliage by late summer, and it is on the list of things to add to the garden. When I came across this variegated form it was too good to miss. It is rather unstable so I was prepared to end up with the green form after a couple of years. I would have been happy with that. Unfortunately the variegated form didn't survive the winter in the greenhouse. I still haven't decided if it was too cold or too dry but something was wrong.
