Guy and Liliane Gusman in their marvellous "The Genus Arisaema" treat this as part of the variation within A. flavum var. flavum
and I'm not disagreeing, I'm just keeping the name because it is so descriptive of the shortened tip on the spathe. I bought it quite by accident
last year from a cactus grower who had too many, which is always a good sign.
It produced plenty of seed, and they have germinated well so I am hoping that I will also be over-run with them before long. The flower is small,
but in proportion to the plant and it lasts well.
