Asparagus cochinchinensis
12th October 2008
Many years ago I had a bit of a 'thing' for Asparagus species, mostly the tender species grown as pot plants, but I grew out of it.
This is a climbing species from Asia that I have only had for a matter of weeks (it came from Pan Global Plants, if you want to rush out and get one).
Hardy by reputation, it will spend this winter in the greenhouse, and then I will consider its future position next spring.

It came through a sharp winter without damage, so I think it is fair to describe it as hardy. My plant seems to have male flowers, so I suppose I should look for a female really,
but I'm not sure how much more of it I need.
