The Harts Tongue fern is one of the commonest ferns locally, and sporelings are one of the major weeds in the garden, but I usually try to find a spare
corner for them if they have to be dug out. It is one of the most splendid and stylish evergreens and (speaking as someone who was born in metropolitan Essex)
I can't condemn it for being common.

I can never resist the opportunity to wander around the garden in the snow. The pictures are rarely spectacular
but they show plants in ways that would be overlooked otherwise. This is a magnificent structural foliage plant.
