Asarum caudatum is one of the commonest species in cultivation. It spreads into vigorous deciduous mats of slightly bristly foliage and is easy to propagate, and
quite distinctive. I have never managed to buy the ordinary form - though I have been sent other things under its name. The closest has been the white form,
which arrived a few years ago as the brown flowered. I am delighted to have the real thing - it was sent to me as A.arifolium ! (though I would be even happier
to have the real A.arifolium).
