Asarum hartwegii
Asarum hartwegii comes from the Sierra Nevada in California and just stretching into Oregon.
I have had this plant for a number of years and hope that it is correctly named, the
long extensions to the calyx lobes are a bit long, and should be more reflexed, if photos
from American wild flower guides are representative.
This picture shows the evergreen leaves of a plant that I don't think is the real thing. Flowers expected shortly
to confirm it.
This plant has leaves with pale reticulated veins, but I have seen green leaved and heavily silvered forms.
I was right to be suspicious. This turned out to be a form of Asarum maximum

Further research shows that this is the real thing.
