Asarum savatieri
Originally identified as A.savatieri v furusei, Barry Yinger has suggested that it is actually an albino form of "sunto kanaoi" , a variant of the
species from Japan that has not yet been given a botanical name.
This plant was photographed at Wisley. The flowers are entirely without red pigment, leaving the deep green colour.
The species is evergreen, and quite variable. A number of named cultivars have been selected by
growers in Japan.
