Collected by Jim Waddick in the Qing Cheng San mountains of Sichuan. It is often described as hardy
, but frost tolerant would probably be more accurate. When I bought mine, it had been frozen in the
pot at the nursery, and the growth at the edge of the pot was mushy.
The centre of the plant regrew, but it took a long time to recover.
Plant Delights Nursery are now listing this as a form of A.fungilliformis, though to
my eye, the flowers are not quite "right".
