Aspidistra elatior 'Kelways Green'
Kelways Nursery in Langport, Somerset, grew (and probably still grow) an unstable variegated
Aspidistra that I believe they found as a sport on a green plant among their sales
plants. I bought a piece of it from them, and for clarity refer to it as 'Kelways Striped'.
It is quite vigorous, broad leaved, and it came attached to a large chunk of a green plant
- 'Kelways Green'. This is really just part of the natural variability of Aspidistra elatior.
It is quite an ordinary plant, but it tickles my fancy and I rather like underdogs.
If you put this under a dog, it would tickle it's fancy as well!
