Aspidistra elatior 'Kelways Striped'
A variegated form I bought from Kelways. Initially I thought it was a variegated sport on a green plant,
but now I think that it was most likely a green reversion on a variegated plant.
There seem to be two very similar variegated clones of this sort in cultivation that tend to get
lumped together as 'Okame'.
The smaller one tends to have yellower leaves with a greater proportion of leaves with large creamy
sectors. This taller form with broader leaves, mostly striped, with fewer large white sectors, has been called
'Variegata'.
Established plants grown side by side are quite distinct.
