Berberis x lologensis 'Apricot Queen'

I'm not sure if we are rooted in the past or if the past has its hooks in us and endlessly drags us backwards. Given that
this is a picture of a Berberis I'm favouring the hooks option.
And all of this nonsense? Well, forty years ago I restructured my first garden and I needed a generic evergreen Berberis
to fill a space. This was the one I ended up with. I lived with it for a few years and then moved on. I don't remember seeing
it in another garden since. So when I saw one (in the bargain bin) at a local nursery, unloved and undervalued there could be no doubt
that it would come home with me, historical hooks and all.
Does the garden need it? Not really.
Could I have walked away from it? No, I'm hooked.
