Biarum arundarum
31st November 2009
A tiny growing aroid from SW Spain. When I was a teenager and not very skilled in these things, I killed some Biarum tenuifolium
fairly rapidly, and decided that they were too tricky for me. However, there comes a mature moment when it is time to put aside the young mans failures
and move on. It happened to me two years ago with respect to Biarum. I started with B.tenuifolium, which provided no special problems
(I must have been really hopeless), and B.marmarisense survived a bad start and bounced back, so this year I have tried a few more, and this is one of them.
I don't really know what to expect. I am told it will flower in autumn but at present I am happy enough to see it growing through the winter.
