Biarum tenuifolium ssp. abbreviatum

Many years ago I failed to grow the typical form from a dried tuber, and blamed my own incompetence (which may indeed have been the source of the problem).
In recent years I have been told repeatedly how easy it is to grow, and a passing exposure to Biarum marmarisense convinced me to
give the genus another go. This one was the first one I have run across since, so I am giving it a try in the greenhouse, and so far without
the irritating 'dead in the pot' consequences that I was fearing.

This has been one of the more delightful success stories of the year in the greenhouse. This odd little flower is what all the fuss
is about!

This subspecies is from Greece and has smaller flowers than the typical (which I haven't grown so it doesn't matter).
