Cassiope selaginoides

A very small Chinese species from alpine slopes rarely more than 20cm tall, often found as a completely prostrate mat. Plants also occur in the Himalaya
through to Sikkim. My plant was collected by Ludlow, Sherriff and Elliott on the Deyang a in south eastern Tibet in 1947 under the number LS&E.13284.
It is distinct in its upright growth and large flowers though it never gets much more than 20cm tall.
