Camellia 'Kerguelen'

Camellias are ridiculous. Even the species are a bit silly. I don't really like the colours or the shapes of the flowers but I adore
the sense of the ridiculous that they introduce. Not everybody gets it, I understand that. Almost nobody gets it when I say I like the variegated ones
(some people really hate variegated plants), but they are ridiculous. 'Kerguelen' pushes all my buttons.
One day I will see it growing in one of those dour collections where the sun never shines and it will raise an embarrassing smile that just won't go away,
like a teenagers erection on the back seat of a bus.
I won't be able to explain it, let's hope nobody asks.
