Chrysanthemum 'Mei Kyo'
9th September 2012
My favourite of the hardy border Chrysanthemums, I grew great clumps of it in the garden years ago
and was missing it, so I planted this young one. The local ecology has changed - this time it was overnight rabbit fodder.
I will have another go, I will build a little fence but I think part of the beauty was produced by its easy
and obliging nature and a little fence will obscure that.

Originally introduced from Japan by Will Ingwersen.
Ingwersens catalogue described it as
'A miniature chrysanthemum with deep pink flowers'
which understates the magnificent truth.
