A species with hard leathery leaves, from Guanxi, China, where it grows on shaded stony cliffs of limestone hills. I have liked this from the moment it arrived - the thick
durable leaves looked like they would tolerate a certain amount of neglect, and not be prone to fungal attack. It has flowered in mid-winter, compared with the april/may
that the Flora promises, but otherwise it matches the description.
In the USA there is a plant grown under this name that looks like a large variegated lettuce, which is clearly not the same thing.
