I grow the variegated form, so it seemed reasonable to try the green one, but this seedling is as far as I have got to date!

The seedlings I was growing deliberately and taking great care over, all expired. Meantime, growing in a pot of bulb seedlings from South Africa, these came up and it took me a while to realise what they were!

The flowers spike produce plenty of flowers, but they only open one or two at a time so it is never quite spectacular.

I seem to have taken a lot of pictures of the flowers this year, which says something telling about the significance of the leaves.
