Clematis columbiana var. tenuiloba 'Ylva'
16th July 2016
A close relative of Clematis alpina from the Rocky Mountains in he USA. The species is low scrambling thing much like C. alpina but
C. columbiana var. tenuiloba is much smaller thing producing a low scrambling patch scattered with pale blue flowers.
'Ylva' is a particularly deep coloured form that will sucker gently in sunny alpine conditions, raised by Henrik Zetterland at Gothenburg Botanic Garden and named after his daughter.

I killed my plant shortly after this when the alpine house overheated and was underwatered. If I replace it then it will go into a scree bed outside
where it should be happier.
