Clematis hirsutissima

A small growing species from the western states of the USA. I bought a seedling from Blackthorn Nursery
and had my fingers crossed that it could be persuaded to tolerate the damp in my garden if I planted it in a raised bed.
Unfortunately a long cold wet winter was too much for it and it has died. If I get another chance, it will
be kept in the greenhouse.
