Codonopsis thalictrifolia
5th July 2018
I had a plant in the garden for a couple of years - I was a staging post for a plant travelling from one friend to another but circumstances mean
that it stayed rather longer than expected. In that time it flowered and the pale blue, veined flowers are a delight. Through the whole period I have been worried
about dmage from slugs, which adore all of the Campanulaceae. Somehow it survived.
This plant had larger leaves thgan I had expected and lacked the narrow waisted corolla usually associated with the species so the identity is uncertain.
In its natural habitat it is a high alpine from the eastern Himalayas growing at altitudes up to 4,500m.
