Introduced by Zocher & co and said to be a hybrid between C. autumnale 'Alboplenum' and C. speciosum 'Album', the intention was clearly to raise a large flowered white double,
a hope that has still to be realised. This large flowered, vigorous lilac double can hardly be described as a failure.
