Cornus 'Eddie's White Wonder'
12th May 1996
Im writing this in 2013 but it seemed worth showing this picture from 1996. 'Eddie's White Wonder' is a spectacular large shrub
smothered in large white flowers in May. I planted this one in about 1985 in the shelter of a Leyland Cypress which has since grown
and shaded it out completely. From time to time as I have wandered in the dark dry shade that the Leylands have produced since then,
have I tripped on the decaying stump of 'Eddie's White Wonder' and for a short moment I wonder wistfully about planting another. That
short moment after a trip but before the approaching ground presents a distraction.
For about fifteen years I enjoyed it and I'm not going to seek out another. I am going to wait until I stumble across one somewhere.
