Crocus sieberi 'Firefly'
10th March 2006
Crocus sieberi is a well behaved species in the garden here, coming up reliably year after year and increasing steadily. 'Firefly' has the same yellow throat as
'Tricolor' but is a much paler lilac, which works well in the garden, but is less striking.

If these forms have a fault, it is that the full sized buds are supported on very thin corolla tubes that fall over in the slightest breeze. Not only do they look tatty,
but they fail to open properly.
