Curculigo crassipes

7th June 2019

I have struggled to grow Curculigo in the past and put the problems down to temperture - the most successful one I know grows in the tropical section of the Princess of Wales Conservatory at Kew. A chance comment hinted that in habitat it grew in much wetter conditions that I had assumed, as well as dry cliffs. Now it stands in water among the Sarracenia and it seems to be doing quite well. It may be stressed by cold but it isn't simultaneously stressed by drought and I think that has helped.
