Cycas panzhihuaensis
13th October 2006
I bought this little seedling quite recently. It will (with luck and patience) make a splendid small plant for a pot in the conservatory. It is possibly cold tolerant,
but far too precious and slow growing to risk.
17th January 2014
Planted in the Agave house, it has grown slowly. It suffers a bit from drought up there (no water supply)
but it is slowly becoming more magnificent.
As with almost all Cycads, it is becoming rare in its natural habitat, Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in China.
First described in 1981, only a limited amount of seed has ever been exported.
