I wouldn't waste time eating Artichokes - too much cooking and peeling and trimming to end up with a lump of boiled cabbage stem that needs a fine sauce to obscure the basic pointlessness
of the exercise.
Makes a wonderful foliage plant in the border. This plant is less than six months old from seed, so it is easy to grow and well worth the effort.
