Raised from seed they have flowered in the first summer. The species comes from a wide stretch of the Himalayas, Thailand, and Vietnam
but it also occurs on Sri Lanka. The fragile annual stems grow from a perennial, carrot-like rootstock. It seems to be a coloniser of
disturbed ground and although it is easy, I have a suspicion that individual plants can be short lived.

My best plant is growing in a large tub by a south wall, despite suggestions that the roots should be kept cool.
