Dahlia coccinea palmeri
15th August 2006
A lovely form of the species with dark bronze leaves. Compact bushy growth and very free flowering.
16th July 2006
The double flowers make it clear that this is not the real thing but a cultivated Dahlia of some sort.
12th October 2014
This is the real thing that can be traced back to a wild collection. Single scarlet-orange flowers on
thin, dark stems. It grew very well in the Agave house through the summer but didn't survive to the following year,
probably because of drought rather than cold.
