Dahlia dissecta
26th November 2010
We are going through a series of hard winters, so it isn't really the time to try new Dahlia
species, but I was given this one recently and it is still small enough in the pot to keep
in the greenhouse.
The species grows in rocky ground in the mountains of Hidalgo and San Luis Potosi at altitudes up
to 8,000ft (seed for this one was collected near Jacala in Hidalgo under the number F&M191).
There is a chance that it will be hardy in which case it will look like a fine leaved
Dahlia merckii.
