Deuterocohnia longipetala

Archive entry 06.07.14

23rd March 2009

It has grown well through a series of harsh winters (in the greenhouse) and is now growing in a 2 gallon bucket.

The species hails from Bolivia with outposts in Peru and Argentina, where it glows in rock clefts. The arching flower scapes bear pendulous spikelets of green flowers and flower repeatedly for several seasons, which came as a surprise when it happened.
