Deutzia corymbosa

14th June 2014

A Himalayan species intoroduced in 1830 with peeling cinnamon bark and hawthorn scented flowers.
I was given cuttings in 2013 and rooted them on autopilot because Deutzia can be charmless things but I have enjoyed this one. The large heads of flowers are tinged pink and even as a young plant it has a certain poise.
Mine is a Keith Rushforth collection under the number KR8320 but I haven't been able to trace any further details.
