Dendrobium moniliforme
Archive entry 02.06.19

A Japanese species that will survive the cold of winter, but probably needs the heat of a greenhouse in summer
to grow well. Most of the plants on the market are recent imports and I have had problems getting them to produce strong growth in the first year.

I have been killing plants of Dendrobium moniliforme for about a decade however I think my ability is slowly improving.
Probably a good thing because over the same period I have become laughably obsessed and have built up a small collection of named forms.
At the same time some of my un-named plants of the species have been recovering and I have become confused about which plant came from where. My normal
obsessively detailed labels have let me down and I am having to identify them by tracking my pictures over the years. As I get them sorted out
they will appear in the list with the origin attached as a cultivar name.
