Dendrobium moniliforme 'Phyllis'

A Japanese species that I have wanted to try for many years but haven't been able to obtain.
Fortunately in recent years a number of Japanese orchids have started to reach European growers
and I was very pleased to run into this one.
It has potential to be much hardier than D.kingianum but it has much finer growth
and thinner pseudobulbs. So far it has been much fussier about growing conditions
and I have yet to test its tolerance of cold.

A stout little plant but I don't make any claim to understand its needs and I am far from convinced that it will continue to prosper.
