Dianthus knappii
27th August 2017
A remarkable species, the only one having yellow flowers. It is a bit straggly and makes loose perennial
cushions that can be short lived but it is easily raised from seed.
The species comes from Eastern Europe, a few young plants arrived here in a roundabout way and may not be staying long
but I thought it was worth recording the remarkable flowers. I first found out about it 38 years ago
(I remember the time and place) and it has taken me this long to have one in flower.
