On occasion D.igneum has been reduced to a synonym of D.pendulum, though it is currently treated as a valid species. It does go to show how similar many of the
Dierama
The rather salmon pink tinge to the flowers make the plant distinct in my eyes, but the natural population is said to be quite variable, so it isn't a significant character.
(and I should add that these seedlings are not convincingly true to name).

This is much more like the real thing. A pot of seedlings grown directly from South African seed,
in the hope of avoiding the hybrid problems that can occur in cultivation.
