Disa glandulosa
6th July 2010
I bought a flask of seedlings in the spring, and they have established in a pot and developed the distinctive glandular leaves.
It should have small white or pink flowers. It's natural distribution extends into Madagascar so I should have been warned that it wasn't very hardy.
As the autumn arrived it started to show signs of suffering from the chill evenings and it was dead before the first frosts arrived.
It was unfortunate to lose it but sometimes the only way to find out if a plant will grow is to try it.
