I have grown it here outside, and it does far better than in a pot, but it tends to get overgrown by other things. This little piece
is a rescue from an old decaying clump and as soom as it is strong enough, it will be out there again.

Brown mottled shoots in spring. My plant would be happier in the ground (as it was for many years on the south side of the house), right up to the point
that the brambles swallowed it beyond recovery (tenacious prickly little buggers).
