Drosanthemum hispidum
6th June 2006
Tiny little flowers the size of one of my fingernails, it has only rarely managed to produce a flush of them at one time. It is a clinger to life.
Large chunks of it die off every year, and tiny green shoots persist, just sufficient to replace itself by the end of the season. Regular propagation and replanting would
solve the problem, but I rather like its grim tenacity.
