A stunning cactus. I grow it for the peculiar pink spines that clothe its body, but the spectacular pink flowers make quite a statement!

Restricted in habitat to northern Sonora and north-west Chihuahua in Mexico. It needs good drainage in cultivation - I have killed a few
by neglecting to keep them dry enough in winter.
